The Chilean Miners are Finally Rescued

On August 5, 2010, there was a mine accident at the San Jose Mine in Chile where thirty-three miners were trapped half a mile in the ground, underneath tons of rocks and other debris. On October 12, with the help of rescuers and the Chilean government, one of the thirty-three miners had finally emerged, sixty-nine days later, from the underground chamber he had been living in for the past two months.  Rescuers are currently retrieving the remaining workers, slowly but surely, while the families are eagerly waiting to see their loved ones.  It is estimated to take roughly one hour to transport each miner above ground.  The families do not care how long it takes to rescue their husbands, brothers and sons, as long as everyone is returned safely to them.

Hola, me llamo Rosalita.  Tengo quince años y mis cumpleaños es el veinticinco de enero.  A mi me gusta mucho leer, bailar y dormir.  No me gusta pintar o limpiar.  No me gusta estudiar pero yo quiero sacar buenas notas en mis clases. Tengo pelo rubio y largo y yo soy alta, mas o menos.  Mis ojos son verdes.  Mi familia no es aburrida.  Mis madres y mi hermana mayor son simpáticas y cómicas.  Mi hermana se llama Taylor.  A veces, ella es antipática pero solamente cuando está estresada.  Ella asiste Wagner Colegio en La Isla de Staten, y yo le quiero mucho.  Yo tengo cosas favoritas muchas.  Mi día favorita es sábado. Mis colores favoritas son azul y violeta. Yo no tengo un mes favorito o programas de televisión favoritas porque me gustan muchas programas.  A veces yo miro Scrubs, The Office, House, o Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Mis libros favoritos son Harry Potter, The Hunger Games, y The Mortal Instruments.  Mis clase favorita es la clase de español, ¡claro!  Estoy muy emocionada y cansada para mi segundo año al Monte San José.
